Transitioning from CHIEF to CDS

During the next 4 months, within the Logistics Industry, the biggest change will be taking place in nearly 30 years. It will impact on all businesses involved in International Trade.

A new UK Customs computer system, for processing import and export declarations, will be introduced. CDS (Customs Declaration Service) will be replacing the current system CHIEF (Customs Handing of Import Export Freight).

CDS will become effective at the end of September 2022.
